Kiwi jam (home-made)

kiwi jam Posted by Hello

Over at Chocolate and Zucchini, Clotilde wrote a sweet article about making a pear jam with cocoa nibs which sounds very curious!

It must be something in the air as I made a kiwi jam just last weekend. As I mentioned in my previous post, I always get stuck with lots of kiwis and they overripe and I can't eat them anymore. I used to bin them which I hated doing and I am now wondering why I didn't think to make jam back then.
Well, I just must have got a brainwave out of this food-blogging and there it is - easy peasy kiwi jam.

Your kiwi jam looks delicious Dreska. On our last real vacation on a little island we took delight in tasting all kinds of exotic jams, all home made. There were soooo good. Your post just brought back those memories and inspired me to make some my own...

I never tried kiwi jam. The fruit is not one of my favourites, but I really like the way the jam looks - so unusual.

I might be worth doing just for the decorative effect.

Hi all, thanks for stopping by. This jam does look a bit different as it is sort of green, but gives it a really nice decorative effect as Ana mentions.

Hello Dreska, as you asked for it, here is the list of ingredients for my pear and spices jam (makes about 4 jar of 370 grams):
1,5 kg of pears
700 g sugar
200 g brown sugar
(or you can choose to use only brown sugar)
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
about the size of a nut of grated ginger root
the juice of a lime
I hope you'll enjoy it.

The kiwi is rich in minerals like potassium, magnesium and fiber and is very good for the woman because kiwi contain folic acid and stresses the vitamin C and B. So if you want to have a baby is very important including kiwi in your diet every day.
